“Layton Blaylock’s documentary, “Art From the Streets” is a wonderful story of a program for “the homeless” in Austin, Texas. From the opening statements by the founders of the program and the officials at the facility, there is an air of excitement and anticipation that really causes you to become involved. Through Mr. Blaylock’s genius, the viewer becomes very well acquainted with five of the participants. They are all quite different. They each have their own stories of abuse, neglect, disrespect and failure. However, you do not detect defeat. They remain hopeful. The story builds to a wonderful and rewarding climax. The participants, as well as the audience, are all better off because of Layton Blaylock’s gift and his concern for the plight of the homeless.”
